Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The trough of low pressure over the northern part of the South China Sea weakened yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with bright periods. There were a few showers in the morning. More than 5 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over the eastern part of the territory. Besides, the trough of low pressure over inland Guangdong is moving southwards gradually. It is expected to edge closer to the coastal areas today, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region. With the trough of low pressure moving towards the northern part of the South China Sea, the weather over the coast of Guangdong will improve in the latter part of this week.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Wednesday, 24 May 2017)

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Mist patches at first. It will become more showery with a few thunderstorms during the day. Temperatures will range between 25 and 28 degrees. Light winds, becoming moderate northerly winds.

Outlook : Becoming fine gradually in the following few days.

    The trough of low pressure over inland Guangdong will edge closer to the south China coastal waters on Wednesday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region.

0.14 microsievert per hour.  These are within the normal
range of fluctuation of the background radiation level in
Hong Kong (see Note). The average dose rates measured at the
radiation monitoring stations over various parts of the
territory were as follows :

    1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during
the period 1987-2016, the background ambient gamma radiation
levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.

    2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of
exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity
called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert.  Protective
action may be required if there is an increase in the
ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total
additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in
a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of
5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma
dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand
times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.

    3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from
instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is
numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
