At 7 p.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 26 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 97 per cent.

Though rainstorm warning has been cancelled, people should stay alert to the danger that may be brought about by river flooding.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, more than 40 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over most parts of the territory in the afternoon, and rainfall even exceeded 80 millimetres over parts of the Hong Kong Island.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Cloudy with occasional showers. Showers will ease off gradually tomorrow. Isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 26 and 30 degrees. Light winds, becoming moderate easterlies.

Outlook : Still showery in the following few days.
