At 11 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 27 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 94 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 1. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until noon today. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.

A southerly airstream is bringing hot and showery weather to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, more than 20 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over parts of Hong Kong Island and Sai Kung this morning.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Showers will be heavier in some areas with thunderstorms at first. Hot with sunny intervals in the afternoon. Moderate south to southeasterly winds.

Outlook : Hot with sunny periods and isolated showers tomorrow. More showery in the following couple of days.
