Strong winds are expected from the east. People engaging in outdoor work or activities should be particularly aware of strong gusts. The public should beware of the possible danger brought by rough seas.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A strong easterly airstream is affecting the south China coast. Meanwhile, a broad trough of low pressure is bringing thundery showers to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places this morning.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy with showers and a few squally thunderstorms. The maximum temperature will be about 29 degrees. Fresh east to southeasterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground.

Outlook : Weather improving gradually in the next couple of days.
