Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Showers are affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong. Meanwhile, a broad area of low pressure over the central part of the South China Sea is bringing unsettled weather to the region. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places in the New Territories this morning.

At 5 a.m., the tropical depression east of the Philippines over the western North Pacific was centred about 910 kilometres south-southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north slowly, lingering over the western North Pacific.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Isolated thunderstorms at first. Very hot with sunny periods during the day. The maximum temperature will be about 33 degrees. Moderate easterly winds, occasionally fresh later.

Outlook : There will be showers in the next few days.
