at 1254 UTC 2 MARCH 2022

GALE WARNING

Please be aware, wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the
averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.

SITUATION
At 1200 UTC Tropical Cyclone Anika was centred within 15 nautical miles of
 latitude nineteen decimal eight south (19.8S)
 longitude one hundred and twenty decimal five east (120.5E)
Recent movement : south at 4 knots
Maximum winds   : 40 knots
Central pressure: 988 hPa

Tropical Cyclone Anika is currently making landfall and will weaken as it moves
inland overnight. Gales possible about the coast north of the system early
Thursday morning.

AREA AFFECTED
Within 35 nautical miles of the centre.

FORECAST
Maximum winds to 40 knots near the centre easing to 30 knots by 1800 UTC 2
March.

Winds above 34 knots within 35 nautical miles in SW quadrant
  and within 20 nautical miles in SE quadrant
  and within 40 nautical miles in NW quadrant with rough seas and moderate
swell.

Forecast positions
At 0000 UTC 03 March: Within 55 nautical miles of 21.0 south 121.1 east
                        Central pressure 993 hPa.
                        Winds to 30 knots.
At 1200 UTC 03 March: Overland within 65 nautical miles of 22.2 south 121.9 east
                        Central pressure 996 hPa.
                        Winds to 25 knots.
