Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The subsidence airstream associated with Tropical Cyclone Megi is affecting the coast of southeastern China gradually.

At 4 p.m., Severe Typhoon Megi was centred about 590 kilometres east of Gaoxiong. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards Taiwan.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with haze and isolated showers. The minimum temperature will be about 27 degrees. Very hot with sunny periods tomorrow. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light winds, becoming moderate north to northwesterly winds. Fresh at times.

Outlook : Becoming cloudy with showers in the following couple of days.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

    Weather Situation:
    At 4 p.m., Severe Typhoon Megi with maximum sustained winds of about 155 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 21.6 degrees north, 125.9 degrees east, it is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour towards Taiwan.

    Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

    Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
    North to northwest force 4 to 5.
    Some haze and isolated showers.
    Moderate seas.

    Nan'ao:
    North to northwest force 6 to 7, up to force 9 tomorrow.

Yesterday's (25 Sep 2016) average ambient gamma radiation
dose rate taken outdoors in Hong Kong ranged from 0.08 to
0.14 microsievert per hour.  These are within the normal
range of fluctuation of the background radiation level in
Hong Kong (see Note). The average dose rates measured at the
radiation monitoring stations over various parts of the
territory were as follows :

    1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during
the period 1987-2015, the background ambient gamma radiation
levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.

    2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of
exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity
called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert.  Protective
action may be required if there is an increase in the
ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total
additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in
a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of
5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma
dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand
times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.

    3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from
instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is
numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
