At midnight at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 32 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 56 per cent.
Tropical Cyclone Megi is crossing Taiwan Strait and is expected to make landfall over the vicinity of Fujian this morning. It will then move inland and weaken rapidly. Chance of strong winds generally over Hong Kong is not high, but winds will be occasionally strong offshore and on high ground. The Observatory will continue to closely monitor any change of the track of Megi and its effect on local weather.
