Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine and dry weather to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, the relative humidity in many places stayed around 60 per cent this afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Tropical Depression Meari was centred about 470 kilometres north-northwest of Yap. It is forecast to be slow moving.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Cloudy periods overnight. The minimum temperature in the urban areas will be around 21 degrees tomorrow morning, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Fine and dry during the day with a maximum temperature of about 26 degrees. Moderate northeasterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine with temperatures rising progressively in the following couple of days. Appreciably cooler midweek next week.

    1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during
the period 1987-2015, the background ambient gamma radiation
levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.

    2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of
exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity
called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert.  Protective
action may be required if there is an increase in the
ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total
additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in
a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of
5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma
dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand
times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.

    3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from
instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is
numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
