Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Strong easterly winds are affecting the south China coast. Besides, a cold front is crossing inland Guangdong. Temperatures over the region were around 8 degrees lower than those of yesterday. The cold front is expected to reach the coastal areas during the day with temperatures falling significantly.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy to overcast with occasional rain. Temperatures will be about 21 degrees at first. Becoming cool significantly during the day. Temperatures at night will fall to around 15 degrees in the urban areas, and two to three degrees lower in the New Territories. Fresh easterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground, becoming northerlies gradually.

Outlook : Rather cool tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature will be around 14 degrees in the urban areas, and two to three degrees lower in the New Territories. Remaining cool in the latter part of this week.

    1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during
the period 1987-2015, the background ambient gamma radiation
levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.

    2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of
exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity
called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert.  Protective
action may be required if there is an increase in the
ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total
additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in
a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of
5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma
dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand
times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.

    3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from
instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is
numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
