Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon is affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong.

At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Tokage was centred about 360 kilometres south of Manila. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the southern part of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Cloudy. Becoming appreciably cool with occasional rain tomorrow. Temperatures in the urban areas will fall gradually from about 20 degrees tonight to around 14 degrees tomorrow night and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds. Strengthening from the north with occasional strong winds offshore tomorrow.

Outlook : Rather cool on Sunday morning. Becoming bright during the day. Sunny periods on Monday.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Tokage with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 11.3 degrees north, 120.7 degrees east. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the southern part of the Philippines.

    Northeast force 5 to 6, becoming north up to force 7 tomorrow.
    Occasional rain tomorrow.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 250900 UTC, Tropical Storm Tokage (1625) with central pressure 998 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one one point six degrees north (11.6 N) one two zero point four degrees east (120.4 E) and is forecast to move northwest or west-northwest at about 10 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 35 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 120 nautical miles.

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.

Yesterday's (24 Nov 2016) average ambient gamma radiation

radiation monitoring stations over various parts of the

    1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during
the period 1987-2015, the background ambient gamma radiation
levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.

    2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of
exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity
called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert.  Protective
action may be required if there is an increase in the
ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total
additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in
a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of
5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma
dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand
times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.

    3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from
instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is
numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
