At 1 p.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 31 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 70 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 11. The intensity of UV radiation was extreme. The public is advised to avoid prolonged exposure under the sun to prevent damage to skin and eyes.
Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.
