Bulletin issued at 11:16 HKT 22/Jul/2017
At 11 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 30 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 80 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 6. The intensity of UV radiation was high.
The tropical depression over the central part of the South China Sea is slow-moving. It is expected to drift towards Hainan Island in the coming one to two days. As it will remain at a distance from Hong Kong, its direct threat to the territory is not high.
Meanwhile, an area of low pressure over Luzon Strait is moving west steadily. It is expected to come close to the coast of Guangdong on Sunday. Its associated unsettled weather will bring showers and squalls to the region on Sunday. Members of the public should take note of the weather changes.
Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.
