At 4 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 29 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 85 per cent.
A band of thundery showers over the waters south of Hong Kong is moving northwards gradually. Heavy rain is expected to affect Hong Kong in the next couple of hours. Members of the public should be on the alert.
