Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Pressure over central China is rising. The associated replenishment of the northeast monsoon will bring generally fine and dry weather to the coast of Guangdong tomorrow.

At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Tembin was centred about 540 kilometres southeast of Nansha Dao. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour across the southern part of the Philippines, entering the southern part of the South China Sea.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Becoming fine and dry overnight. Mild during the day but becoming cool at night tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 17 and 22 degrees. Moderate east to northeasterly winds. Becoming northerlies tomorrow, fresh offshore.

Outlook : Mainly fine and dry with cool mornings during Christmas and the day after.

Note
  1. From readings taken at various locations in Hong Kong during the period 1987-2016, the background ambient gamma radiation levels may vary between 0.06 and 0.30 microsievert per hour.
  2. The extent of health effects to a person as a result of exposure to radiation is expressed by a physical quantity called equivalent dose, in unit of sievert. Protective action may be required if there is an increase in the ambient gamma dose rate above background such that the total additional dose is expected to exceed 5000 microsieverts in a relatively short period of time. For example, a dose of 5000 microsieverts may be reached when the ambient gamma dose rate is 1000 microsieverts per hour (several thousand times above background) and lasts for 5 hours.
  3. The readings of ambient gamma radiation level from instrument are expressed in unit of gray, which is numerically equal to the gamma dose expressed in sievert.
