Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The weather was generally fine over the coastal areas of Guangdong today. Locally, it was sunny but hazy. The visibility over the territory generally fell below 5000 metres. Warm and dry during the day. Under the influence of a fresh easterly airstream, it will be cloudy with a few rain patches over the south China coastal areas in the next couple of days.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Thursday, 18 Jan 2018)

Fine at first. The minimum temperature will be about 17 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 23 degrees during the day. Cloudy with one or two light rain patches later. Moderate easterly winds, freshening later.

Outlook : Mainly cloudy with a few rain patches in the following couple of days.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 040600 UTC, Tropical Depression Bolaven (1801) has weakened into an area of low pressure.

    No further warnings on this area of low pressure will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless regeneration takes place.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
