Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A cold front over the northern part of southern China moved across the coastal areas today. Locally, it was cloudy with relatively low visibility at first. Under the influence of the intense winter monsoon associated with the cold front, winds strengthened from the north in the afternoon and temperatures dropped appreciably. Temperatures over most part of the territory at night were three to six degrees lower than those of yesterday. The intense winter monsoon will continue to bring cold weather to southern China this week.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Monday, 29 Jan 2018)

Cloudy to overcast with one or two rain patches. It will become cold. Temperatures will range between 9 to 12 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground.

Outlook : Cold weather will persist this week. The minimum temperature will be generally 9 degrees or below. Sunny periods in the latter part of this week.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 040600 UTC, Tropical Depression Bolaven (1801) has weakened into an area of low pressure.

    No further warnings on this area of low pressure will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless regeneration takes place.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
