Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

An intense winter monsoon is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Locally, temperatures over the territory fell to around 9 degrees this morning, and six to eight degrees lower than those of yesterday.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy to overcast with one or two rain patches. It will be cold. Temperatures will linger around 11 degrees during the day. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong offshore.

Outlook : Cold weather will persist this week. The minimum temperature will be generally 9 degrees or below. Sunny periods in the latter part of this week.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 040600 UTC, Tropical Depression Bolaven (1801) has weakened into an area of low pressure.

    No further warnings on this area of low pressure will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless regeneration takes place.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
