Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

An intense winter monsoon persists to bring cold weather to the coast of Guangdong. Meanwhile, the band of rain that affected the Pearl River Estuary this morning is moving gradually eastwards away from the region.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with one or two light rain patches at first. Dry tomorrow and very cold in the morning. The minimum temperature will be about 7 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Sunny periods during the day with a maximum temperature of around 13 degrees. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds, strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Mainly fine and dry with relatively large temperature difference between day and night in the following few days. The cold spell will persist into the latter part of next week.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 040600 UTC, Tropical Depression Bolaven (1801) has weakened into an area of low pressure.

    No further warnings on this area of low pressure will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless regeneration takes place.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
