A replenishment of the winter monsoon is affecting the south China coastal areas. The weather remains cold over the region.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Cold and dry. Cloudy overnight with a minimum temperature of about 9 degrees in the urban areas, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories. Mainly fine during the day tomorrow with a maximum temperature of around 14 degrees. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Fine and dry but still cold in the following few days. Daytime temperatures rising midweek next week.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 040600 UTC, Tropical Depression Bolaven (1801) has weakened into an area of low pressure.

    No further warnings on this area of low pressure will be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory unless regeneration takes place.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
