At 3 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 24 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 95 per cent.

A trough of low pressure is bringing unsettled weather to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect Hong Kong in the next couple of hours. Members of the public should stay on the alert.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 6:00 a.m. today. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure is bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong. Locally, more than 20 millimetres were recorded over most parts of the territory in the last few hours.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy with showers. Showers will be heavy at times in the morning with squally thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 23 and 27 degrees. Light to moderate southerly winds.

Outlook : There will still be heavy showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. Showers will ease off gradually in the latter part of this week.
