Bulletin updated at 00:45 HKT 10/May/2018

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure brought showers to the coast of western Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea yesterday. Locally, it was cloudy with occasional showers. There were a few thunderstorms at first. More than 5 millimetres of rainfall were recorded in many places, and rainfall even exceeded 20 millimetres over the North District and western part of the New Territories. Under the influence of a strong easterly airstream in the afternoon, local winds strengthened from the east, strong offshore. The easterly airstream will continue to affect the coast of Guangdong today and tomorrow. With the trough of low pressure that lingers around the south China coast weakening today, showers will ease off gradually over eastern Guangdong.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Cloudy with showers. Showers will ease off gradually later. Temperatures will range between 22 and 25 degrees. Fresh easterly winds, strong offshore.

Outlook : One or two showers on Friday. Brighter over the weekend. Hot early next week.

  2. Temporal variations are generally caused by changes in meteorological conditions such as rainfall, wind and barometric pressure.
  3. Spatial variations are generally caused by differences in the radioactive content of local rock and soil.
  4. The data displayed is provisional. Only limited data validation has been carried out.
