    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Shangchuan Dao. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao, Shanwei and south of Hong Kong.

    Weather Situation:
    At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Ewiniar with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 20.1 degrees north, 110.4 degrees east. Ewiniar is forecast to be slow-moving, and will linger in the vicinity of Leizhou Peninsula.

    Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

    Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
    East to southeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
    Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms, showers will be heavy at times.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao, Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:

    Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms.

    Shangchuan Dao:

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

    Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

    At 5 p.m., Tropical Storm Ewiniar was estimated to be about 460 kilometres southwest of Hong Kong (near 20.0 degrees north 110.5 degrees east) and is forecast to be slow-moving and linger in the vicinity of Leizhou Peninsula.

    Since Ewiniar maintains a distance of more than 400 kilometres from Hong Kong, the chance to issue the Strong Wind Signal, No.3 will not be high tonight.

    According to the present forecast track, Ewiniar is expected to edge closer to the western coast of Guangdong tomorrow. However, there is still uncertainty in the movement of Ewiniar. Depending on the variations in local winds, the Observatory will consider the need to change the tropical cyclone warning signal tomorrow.

    Outer rainbands associated with Ewiniar will continue to bring heavy showers and squalls to Hong Kong in the next few days.

    1. Precautions should be taken. Windows and doors should be checked.

    2. Drains should be cleared of leaves and rubbish. People in low-lying areas should take precautions against flooding.

    3. There may be swells, you are advised to stay away from the shoreline.

    4. People planning to visit Guangdong, Macau, outlying islands or remote parts of Hong Kong should note that changes in weather may affect your trips.

    5. Listen to radio, watch TV or browse the Hong Kong Observatorys website and mobile app for latest information on the tropical cyclone.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 060600 UTC, Tropical Storm Ewiniar (1804) with central pressure 995 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of two zero point one degrees north (20.1 N) one one zero point three degrees east (110.3 E) and is forecast to be slow moving for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 35 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 90 nautical miles.

    Two zero point nine degrees north (20.9 N)
    One one one point one degrees east (111.1 E)
    Maximum winds 40 knots.

    Two two point seven degrees north (22.7 N)

    Maximum winds 30 knots.

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
