Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A southerly airstream brought showers to the coast of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, there were sunny periods, one or two showers and isolated thunderstorms. The southerly airstream is expected to affect the coast of Guangdong today. The anticyclone aloft covering southern China will strengthen slightly early next week, bringing very hot weather to the region.

Besides, Tropical Storm Jongdari made landfall over Jinshan, Shanghai yesterday and weakened gradually into a tropical depression. At 11 p.m. last night, Jongdari was centred about 90 kilometres northeast of Nanjing. It is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour further inland and dissipate gradually.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Very hot with sunny periods during the day. Temperatures will range between 28 and 33 degrees. Moderate southerly winds.

Outlook : Very hot with sunny periods and one or two showers in the following couple of days.
