At 9 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 27 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 94 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 0.1. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Though rainstorm warning has been cancelled, people should stay alert to the danger that may be brought about by river flooding.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Showers are affecting the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, more than 70 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over Hong Kong Island, Sai Kung and Lantau Island this morning.

At 8 a.m., Severe Typhoon Soulik was centred about 860 kilometres southeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Sunny intervals in the afternoon. The maximum temperature will be about 31 degrees. Light to moderate southwesterly winds.

Outlook : Sunny periods and a few showers in the next couple of days.
