During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 4. The intensity of UV radiation was moderate.

Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Winds are light over the coast of Guangdong. A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers to the northern part of the South China Sea.

At noon, Severe Typhoon Soulik was centred about 400 kilometres south-southeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the seas south of Kyushu of Japan.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with a few showers and relatively low visibility. Hot with sunny intervals and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Light winds.

Outlook : Sunny periods and a few showers in the next couple of days.
