During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 4. The intensity of UV radiation was moderate.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Winds are light over the coast of Guangdong. A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers to the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, the heavy showers in the afternoon brought more than 10 millimetres of rainfall to the urban areas, and rainfall even exceeded 30 millimetres over Wan Chai District.

At noon, Severe Typhoon Soulik was centred about 400 kilometres south-southeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the seas south of Kyushu of Japan.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers. Showers will be heavier in some areas with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Light winds.

Outlook : Sunny periods and a few showers in the next couple of days.
