During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 3. The intensity of UV radiation was moderate.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 6:00 p.m. today. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to occur over Lantau, New Territories West and New Territories North.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Winds are light over the coast of Guangdong. A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers to the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, the heavy showers in the afternoon brought more than 10 millimetres of rainfall to the urban areas, New Territories West and Lantau Island, and rainfall even exceeded 30 millimetres over Wan Chai District.

At 4 p.m., Severe Typhoon Soulik was centred about 320 kilometres south of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the seas south of Kyushu of Japan.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Sunny periods and relatively low visibility tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 27 and 32 degrees. Light winds.

Outlook : A few showers and sunny intervals in the following couple of days.
