At noon at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 31 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 73 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 8. The intensity of UV radiation was very high.

Hot weather might cause adverse health effects. The Observatory advises the public to stay on the alert.

The Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 12:30 p.m. It will remain effective until 1:45 p.m. today. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to occur over New Territories East.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A broad area of low pressure is bringing showers to the northern part of the South China Sea.

At noon, Severe Typhoon Soulik was centred about 320 kilometres south of Jeju. It is forecast to move northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula. Meanwhile, Severe Typhoon Cimaron was centred about 1140 kilometres southeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move northwest at about 32 kilometres per hour in the general direction of Japan.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Sunny periods. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Relatively low visibility. Light winds.

Outlook : Sunny intervals in the next couple of days. There will also be a few showers.
