At 10 p.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 27 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 96 per cent.

Announcement on Localised Heavy Rain: More than 70 millimetres of rainfall were recorded in Central and Western District of Hong Kong Island in the past 1 hour ending at 9:55 p.m. and may cause serious flooding.

The Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal has been issued.
The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 11:45 p.m. today. A few thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.

A broad area of low pressure is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with showers and a few thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at first. Temperatures will range between 26 and 30 degrees. Light winds, becoming moderate southwesterlies later tomorrow.

Outlook : Showers and squally thunderstorms in the following couple of days. Showers will be heavy at times.
