Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure brought showers to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea yesterday. Locally, it was cloudy with a few showers and thunderstorms. Showers were heavy last night, more than 40 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over Kwai Tsing, Tai Po, Sha Tin and Tsuen Wan. An active southwesterly airstream associated with the trough of low pressure is expected to bring heavy rain and squally thunderstorms to the south China coast in the next couple of days.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Tuesday, 28 Aug 2018)

Cloudy with heavy showers and occasional squally thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 25 and 29 degrees. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh offshore.

Outlook : Heavy showers and squally thunderstorms in the following couple of days. Showers easing off gradually towards the weekend.
