At 11 p.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 27 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 93 per cent.

Though rainstorm warning has been cancelled, people should stay alert to the danger that may be brought about by river flooding.

Please be reminded that:

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow. Isolated squally thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.
The Landslip Warning has been issued.
The Special Announcement of Flooding in Northern New Territories has been issued.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure brought thundery showers to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea today. Locally, there were heavy showers and squally thunderstorms. More than 100 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over most parts of the New Territories, and rainfall even exceeded 200 millimetres over Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tai Po and North District. An active southwesterly airstream associated with the trough of low pressure will continue to bring heavy showers and squally thunderstorms to the south China coast tomorrow.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Thursday, 30 Aug 2018)

Cloudy with showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times. Temperatures will range between 26 and 29 degrees. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Showers easing off gradually with sunny intervals in the following couple of days.
