During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 0.2. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Gusts reaching 70 kilometres per hour or above may affect Lantau and New Territories.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure is bringing thundery showers to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, a few millimetres of rainfall were generally recorded over the New Territories and Lantau Island this morning, and rainfall even exceeded 50 millimetres over Yuen Long.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy with showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times. The maximum temperature will be about 29 degrees. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Showers easing off gradually with sunny intervals in the next couple of days.
