At noon at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 25 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 96 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 0.6. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Widespread heavy rain may affect Hong Kong in a couple of hours. Members of the public should be on the alert.

14.9 millimetres of rainfall were recorded at the Hong Kong Observatory between midnight last night and midday today. 615.1 mm of rainfall have been recorded at the Hong Kong Observatory in August this year. The accumulated rainfall since 1st January up to the end of August this year was 1590.0 mm compared with the normal of 1905.5 mm for the same period.

Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coastal areas of Guangdong. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places in the past few hours, and rainfall even exceeded 40 millimetres over Sai Kung.

At noon, Super Typhoon Jebi was centred about 1650 kilometres south of Osaka. It is forecast to move northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with showers. Showers will be heavy with thunderstorms at first. Moderate southerly winds.

Outlook : Still a few showers tomorrow. Sunny periods in the following couple of days.
