Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A trough of low pressure brought showers and thunderstorms to the coastal areas of Guangdong today. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Showers were heavy around noon. More than 30 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over most parts of the territory, and rainfall even exceeded 70 millimetres over Sai Kung and Cheung Chau. Under the influence of an anticyclone aloft, showers will ease off and the weather will improve over the coast of Guangdong early next week.

At 11 p.m., Super Typhoon Jebi was centred about 1480 kilometres south of Osaka. It is forecast to move northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Sunday, 2 Sep 2018)

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Showers will ease off and there will be sunny intervals later. Temperatures will range between 25 and 29 degrees. Light to moderate southerly winds.

Outlook : Sunny periods and one or two showers in the following couple of days.
