At noon at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 27 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 74 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 3. The intensity of UV radiation was moderate.

The low pressure area over the Luzon Strait has strengthened into a tropical depression. It is expected to move across the vicinity of the Luzon Strait slowly today and will affect the northern part of the South China Sea tomorrow. The Observatory will consider issuing the Standby Signal No. 1 tomorrow.

The northeast monsoon is affecting Guangdong.

The area of low pressure over the Luzon Strait has intensified into a tropical depression. At noon, the tropical depression was centred about 180 kilometres southeast of Gaoxiong. It is expected to move across the vicinity of the Luzon Strait slowly at first, and move west at about 12 kilometres per hour entering the northern part of the South China Sea later.

Mainly cloudy. Sunny periods and isolated showers in the afternoon. Moderate easterly winds.

Outlook : Mainly fine tomorrow. Windy with a few squally showers midweek this week.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

The area of low pressure over the Luzon Strait has intensified into a tropical depression. At noon., the tropical depression with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 21.6 degrees north, 121.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move across the vicinity of the Luzon Strait slowly at first, and move west at about 12 kilometres per hour entering the northern part of the South China Sea later.

East force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6.
Isolated squally showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao:
North to northeast force 6 to 7.

Tropical Cyclone Warning

An area of low pressure over the Luzon Strait has intensified into a Tropical Depression with central pressure 1002 hectopascals. At 100300 UTC, it was centred within 90 nautical miles of two one point five degrees north (21.5 N) one two one point seven degrees east (121.7 E) and is forecast to move across the vicinity of the Luzon Strait slowly at first, and move west at about 6 knots later.

Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 25 knots.

Radius of over 2 metre waves 60 nautical miles.

The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
