Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon affected the coastal areas of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was fine. Very dry during the day with the relative humidity over many places once fell to 30 per cent or below. A replenishment of the northeast monsoon is expected to bring mainly fine and dry weather to southern China today and tomorrow.

Besides, Super Typhoon Yutu weakened into a severe typhoon yesterday morning. At 11 p.m. last night, Yutu was centred about 380 kilometres northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Tuesday, 30 Oct 2018)

It will be fine. Relatively cool in the morning and at night. The minimum temperature will be about 22 degrees in the urban areas, and appreciably lower in the New Territories. Very dry during the day with a maximum temperature of around 29 degrees. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds, occasionally strong on high ground.

Outlook : Relatively cool in the morning and at night and very dry during the day on Wednesday. Windy in the middle to latter parts of this week.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 11 p.m., Severe Typhoon Yutu with maximum sustained winds of about 165 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 16.9 degrees north, 123.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour towards Luzon.

    Rough seas.

    Nan'ao, Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 291500 UTC, Severe Typhoon Yutu (1826) with central pressure 945 hectopascals was centred within 30 nautical miles of one six point eight degrees north (16.8 N) one two three point six degrees east (123.6 E) and is forecast to move west at about 10 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 90 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 180 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 47 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 63 knot winds 45 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 300 nautical miles.

    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
