Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A dry northeast monsoon is affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong. Locally, the relative humidity in many places stayed at 30 per cent or below in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Typhoon Yutu was centred about 260 kilometres north-northwest of Manila. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour across the northeastern part of the South China Sea.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Fine and very dry. Cooler in the morning and at night. The minimum temperature will be 23 degrees in the urban areas, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories. Sunny periods tomorrow with a maximum temperature of around 28 degrees. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground.

Outlook : Windy in the following couple of days. Sunny periods over the weekend and early next week.

    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., Typhoon Yutu with maximum sustained winds of about 140 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 16.7 degrees north, 120.2 degrees east. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour across the northeastern part of the South China Sea.

    At 300900 UTC, Typhoon Yutu (1826) with central pressure 960 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of one six point eight degrees north (16.8 N) one one nine point eight degrees east (119.8 E) and is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 8 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 75 knots.

    Radius of over 47 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 63 knot winds 30 nautical miles.
