The northeast monsoon is affecting the coast of Guangdong.

At 2 a.m., Tropical Depression Yutu was centred about 80 kilometres west of Dongsha. It is forecast to move slowly, linger over the northeastern part of the South China Sea and dissipate gradually.

Weather forecast for today

Cloudy. Slightly cooler with one or two rain patches in the morning. The minimum temperature will be about 19 degrees. Sunny intervals during the day with a maximum temperature of around 25 degrees. Moderate north to northeasterly winds, occasionally fresh at first with swells.

Outlook : Sunny periods in the following few days.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 3 a.m., Tropical Depression Yutu with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 20.5 degrees north, 115.9 degrees east. It is forecast to move slowly, linger over the northeastern part of the South China Sea and dissipate gradually.

    Isolated squally showers.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 021800 UTC, Tropical Depression Yutu (1826) with central pressure 1008 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two zero point five degrees north (20.5 N) one one five point nine degrees east (115.9 E) and is forecast to be slow moving for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 25 knots.

    Radius of over 2 metre waves 90 nautical miles.

    Dissipated over sea.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
