The northeast monsoon is affecting southern China.

At noon, the tropical depression over the seas east of the Philippines was centred about 850 kilometres east-southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 25 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy. Bright periods in the afternoon. Moderate east to northeasterly winds, occasionally fresh.

Outlook : A few rain patches later tomorrow. Becoming cool appreciably on Thursday.

Weather information for south China coastal waters issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 12:30 p.m. on 20 November 2018

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

At noon, the tropical depression over the seas east of the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 10.4 degrees north, 127.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 25 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
A few rain patches later. Visibility relatively low in some areas.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East to northeast force 6 to 7.
Rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
Moderate to rough seas.
