Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The winter monsoon affecting southern China is strengthening gradually.

At 4 p.m., the tropical depression to the east of the Philippines was centred about 830 kilometres east-southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the central part of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Becoming cloudy overnight. Turning cold tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 12 and 16 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. Bright periods during the day. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground tomorrow.

Outlook : Cold weather will persist and it will be windy in the following few days. A few rain patches early to midweek next week.

    Weather Situation:
    An intense northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 4 p.m., the tropical depression to the east of the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 10.7 degrees north, 127.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards the central part of the Philippines.
