Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The winter monsoon is bringing cold weather to Guangdong. Locally, temperatures over most parts of the territory fell to around 12 degrees this morning.

At 5 a.m., the tropical depression to the east of the Philippines was centred about 650 kilometres southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 16 kilometres per hour across the central part of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy. Cold in the morning and at night. Dry with bright periods during the day. The maximum temperature will be about 16 degrees. Moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground.

Outlook : Cold weather will persist and it will be windy in the next few days. A few rain patches early to midweek next week.

    Weather Situation:
    An intense northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters.

    At 5 a.m., the tropical depression to the east of the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 11.2 degrees north, 125.9 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 16 kilometres per hour across the central part of the Philippines.
