Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

An intense winter monsoon persists over Guangdong. Locally, temperatures this morning generally fell to around 11 degrees over the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.

At 8 a.m., the tropical depression over the southern part of the South China Sea was centred about 520 kilometres southwest of Nansha Dao. It is forecast to move west-southwest at about 12 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the seas south of Vietnam.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy. It will be cold. Sunny intervals during the day with a maximum temperature of around 16 degrees. One or two rain patches at night. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, occasionally strong on the high ground.

Outlook : Remaining cold in the next couple of days with a few rain patches. Temperatures rising gradually towards the weekend.
