Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

An intense winter monsoon persisted over Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy. The weather was cold in the morning. Temperatures generally fell to around 11 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. There were sunny intervals during the day. Under the influence of the monsoon, it is expected to remain cold with a few rain patches over Guangdong today and tomorrow.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Wednesday, 2 Jan 2019)

Cloudy with a few rain patches. It will be cold with a minimum temperature of about 12 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories. The maximum temperature will be around 15 degrees. Moderate northerly winds, occasionally fresh.

Outlook : There will still be one or two rain patches on Thursday. Temperatures rising gradually in the following couple of days.
