Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A cold front formed over central China yesterday morning and moved southwards gradually. It crossed the coastal areas of Guangdong last night. Locally, it was warm with sunny periods and light winds. There was haze in some areas in the afternoon. The northeast monsoon associated with the cold front is expected to bring cooler weather to southern China today and tomorrow.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Friday, 1 Feb 2019)

Mainly cloudy. Cool in the morning. Bright periods during the day. Temperatures will range between 17 and 22 degrees. Moderate northerly winds, becoming fresh easterlies later and there will be one or two light rain patches.

Outlook : Cooler on Saturday. Humid and foggy with sunny periods early next week. Mild during the Lunar New Year holidays.

A cold front is crossing the the south China coastal waters. The associated northeast monsoon will affect the region.

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
North to northeast force 4 to 5, becoming east force 5 to 6.
A few light rain patches.
Moderate seas, becoming rough.

Nan'ao:
East to northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8.
Rough to very rough seas.

Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:
East to northeast force 6 to 7.
Rough seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
Northeast force 5 to 6, becoming east force 6 to 7 later.
Moderate to rough seas.
