At 10 a.m. at the Hong Kong Observatory the air temperature was 28 degrees Celsius and the relative humidity 80 per cent.
During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 2. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Announcement on Localised Heavy Rain: Rain was particularly heavy in Lantau Island in Islands District, with more than 70 millimetres of rainfall recorded in the past 1 hour ending at 8:15 a.m. and may cause serious flooding.

The Thunderstorm Warning has been issued. It will remain effective until 11:30 a.m. today. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to occur over New Territories.

The anticyclone aloft over southern China is weakening slightly. Meanwhile, showers are affecting the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Showers will be heavier in some areas at first with isolated thunderstorms. Sunny intervals in the afternoon. Light to moderate southerly winds.

Outlook : Sunny intervals and a few showers in the next couple of days. Showers becoming more frequent midweek this week.
