Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Showers affected the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong today. Locally, it was mainly cloudy today with sunny intervals during the day. There were also a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. More than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over North District, Sha Tin and Sai Kung. The area of low pressure now over the central part of the South China Sea will develop gradually and may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next couple of days. It will move towards the vicinity of western Guangdong to Hainan Island in the middle and latter parts of this week. The associated heavy squally showers and thunderstorms will affect the coast of Guangdong. It will be windy over the region.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Tuesday, 30 Jul 2019)

Mainly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Sunny intervals during the day. Temperatures will range between 27 and 32 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, occasionally strong offshore.

Outlook : Windy with heavy squally showers in the following couple of days.

An area of low pressure located near 17 degrees north, 116 degrees east is bringing unsettled weather to the region and may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next couple of days. It will move towards the vicinity of western Guangdong to Hainan Island in the middle and latter parts of this week.
