Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

A southwesterly airstream affected the coast of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, there were heavy showers and thunderstorms yesterday morning. About 30 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places, and rainfall even exceeded 50 millimetres over parts of Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island. It was very hot with sunny periods during the day and temperatures over the territory rose to 33 degrees or above. The southwesterly airstream affecting the coast of Guangdong is expected to become more active in the next couple of days, there will be more showers and thunderstorms over the region.

At 11 p.m. last night, Severe Tropical Storm Krosa was centred about 240 kilometres east-southeast of Kagoshima. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards the vicinity of Kyushu to Shikoku of Japan.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. The minimum temperature will be about 28 degrees. Hot with sunny periods during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees. Moderate southwesterly winds.

Outlook : More showers and thunderstorms in the following couple of days.
