    Warnings:
    Storm force winds in Nan'ao. Gale force winds in Shanwei. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters and south of Hong Kong.

    Weather Situation:
    At 11 a.m., Tropical Storm Bailu with maximum sustained winds of about 85 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 24.1 degrees north, 116.7 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 25 kilometres per hour crossing southeastern part of China.

    West to southwest force 5 to 6.
    Heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao:
    Southwest force 8 to 9, occasionally force 10 at first.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

    Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

    This means that a tropical cyclone now centred within about 800 kilometres of Hong Kong may affect us.

    At 11 a.m., Tropical Storm Bailu was estimated to be about 330 kilometres northeast of Hong Kong (near 24.1 degrees north 116.7 degrees east) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 25 kilometres per hour crossing southeastern part of China.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    Severe Tropical Storm Bailu (1911) has weakened into a Tropical Storm with central pressure 988 hectopascals. At 250000 UTC, it was centred within 60 nautical miles of two three point seven degrees north (23.7 N) one one seven point four degrees east (117.4 E) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 14 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 45 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 90 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 150 nautical miles.

    Forecast position and intensity at 260000 UTC
    Two six point zero degrees north (26.0 N)
    One one two point six degrees east (112.6 E)
    Maximum winds 25 knots.

    Forecast position and intensity at 270000 UTC
    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
