During the past hour the mean UV Index recorded at King's Park was 0.6. The intensity of UV radiation was low.

Though rainstorm warning has been cancelled, people should stay alert to the danger that may be brought about by river flooding.

Cloudy with occasional squally showers and thunderstorms. Showers will ease off with sunny intervals during the day tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 25 and 30 degrees. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground at first. There will be swells.

Outlook : Mainly fine and becoming very hot in the following couple of days.

    Warnings:
    Gale force winds in Nan'ao and Shanwei. Strong winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters and south of Hong Kong.

    Weather Situation:
    At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Bailu with maximum sustained winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 24.7 degrees north, 115.5 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour crossing southeastern part of China.

    Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

    Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
    West to southwest force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.
    Heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
    Moderate to rough seas.

    Nan'ao and Shanwei:
    Southwest force 6 to 7, up to force 8 at first.
    Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
    Rough to very rough seas.

    South of Hong Kong:
    West to southwest force 5 to 6, occasionally force 7.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin

    Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

    The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

    This means that a tropical cyclone now centred within about 800 kilometres of Hong Kong may affect us.

    At 4 p.m., Tropical Storm Bailu was estimated to be about 300 kilometres north-northeast of Hong Kong (near 24.7 degrees north 115.5 degrees east) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 20 kilometres per hour crossing southeastern part of China.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 250600 UTC, Tropical Storm Bailu (1911) with central pressure 994 hectopascals was centred within 60 nautical miles of two four point five degrees north (24.5 N) one one five point eight degrees east (115.8 E) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 10 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 35 knots.

    Radius of over 33 knot winds 60 nautical miles.
    Radius of over 2 metre waves 150 nautical miles over southeast quadrant, 120 nautical miles elsewhere.

    Dissipated over land.



    The Hong Kong Observatory's tropical cyclone warnings for shipping are issued about one and a half hours after the time of observation. They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
